Working together to prepare for emerging challenges in the NDIS-environment

One year on from the official NDIS national roll-out in 1 July 2016, Australia’s disability sector is already plagued with inefficiencies, workforce and capacity constraints as well as infrastructural concerns. Many question if the $22-billion scheme is sustainable in the long run, and if the industry is fully-prepared for the full roll-out by 2019.

While NDIS will no doubt impact the lives of people with disability and is a much-needed social reform, it is critical to ensure that the industry is well-prepared for this change and that consumers are properly taken care of. More importantly, disability service providers need to have sufficient resources, the right workforce and necessary infrastructure to cope with NDIS and its national roll-out.

NDIS2.0: Reshaping Workforce, Funding & Infrastructure Strategies will bring leaders from Government bodies and disability service providers together in a single platform this August held over 2-days. These leaders will dive deep. Held over 2-days, these leaders will dive deep into challenges with the ongoing NDIS roll-out (e.g. widening workforce gap, technology failures, inaccurate estimates and inadequate resources), and explore possible strategies to “make it work” by tackling these issues.
